For all the GNOME-Users out there.
I think a lot of people would like that the GNOME-Shell have an options which enables to use it like the current GNOME-Panel (from the design).
So there is a bottom panel which shows open windows and things like that.
I made a bug-report for that and if you like the idea you can vote for it or leave a comment: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=625587

Status: RESOLVED WONTFIX
I can't say I'm very surprised. Although it would be nice.
Once I got a glimpse of gnome-shell I knew I wasn't ever going to like it, so I figured I would ditch GNOME before it came out (when I would leave GNOME anyway). Xfce and I have been good buddies since then, though I may end up on Openbox.

You don't have to use it, at the moment I run without any gnome panels as well. Not sure if they will even remove gnome-panels completely? Anyway, providing a bottom panel via an extension sounds like a viable solution to me.
