Hello everyone, some days ago I installed Arch and everything was Ok. I had sound and all.
But, when I rebooted, my sound stopped working. I have been messing around, executing alsaconf and alsamixer like a thousand times and things are getting worse. I removed and reinstalled alsa-utils, alsa-base and that a lot of times too. Now I don't have sound and when I try to run alsaconf it says that cant find a PCI card.
Yesterday it detected my Intel card, it seems that has stopped working too.
Also, when I close my X session there are lot of error messages like this:
amixer: Unable to find simple control 'PCM',0
Any clue on what did I mess up?

Same issue here - although I'm running 'Testing' and 'kde-snapshots', so I expect problems !
Kmix wouldn't run for me - no error messages from a console start, either - so I ran alsamixer from the console and upped the volumes there [ 'alsactl store' to finish ].
That got things going for me.

Even though every switch in alsamixer is set to 100% I still don't have any sound. Seems that I have some kind of problem with PCM, at least thats what the console says

That's also messed up, as I wrote in my first post. Alsaconf now can't detect my sound card

Ok, I have fixed it, now I have 100% working Arch.
Simply I started following all the wiki steps one by one and carefully from the start. I don't know what did wrong the first time, but now everything it's ok.
Thank you for every reply!
