Hi
I've been trying to print to the printer in my home, a Canon MF5600, connected to XP pc. Using Cups/Samba I have met no succes.
Could someone guide me through this problem.

Section 4 of this document should help: http://www.faqs.org/docs/Linux-mini/Deb … nting.html
Philosophy is looking for a black cat in a dark room. Metaphysics is looking for a black cat in a dark room that isn't there. Religion is looking for a black cat in a dark room that isn't there and shouting "I found it!". Science is looking for a black cat in a dark room with a flashlight.

Seems like I got dealt the worst brand for unix support... and the unsupported printer from that brand....

Furthermore, the ufr2 ( aur ) package doesn't include my printer's .pdd file. So... is there a way around this... a alternative driver... or must I make my own. If so... how?
I would really like to chuck out this printer and just buy a supported one. But its not mine or my network. Any help, suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Steve
