Perl 5.12.1 , 'binaries' install to /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/bin - why

I'm well aware of the recent update, but why are 'bins' suddenly installing to /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/bin instead of /usr/bin/perlbin/site/ ?

Where is this defined?

I have no idea what's going on ever since that upgrade. All my Perl scrips fail with "segmentation fault" errors and I can't seem to be able to install anything via the CPAN command line tool, which, as you said, is now in another directory not in the system path.

OK, I solved it by removing the old 5.10.1 directory completely from under /usr/lib/perl5/site_perl and now I can reinstall all my modules via cpan.

Should have been made clearer.

... but. My issue still remains. Is this only for me? hmm

As I said, the bin directory has been moved in my box too. I just created a symlink to the cpan utility into /usr/bin for now...
