Pygame inverts screen colors

Hi everyone.
Me and a friend of mine are starting a project that we'll be writing in pygame
However, when I use pygame.display.set_mode() it inverts my screen's colors. This also happened a while ago when I used VisualBoyAdvance.
by the way, I've never used pygame before, so if it matters, the arguments to set_mode() are (468, 60). I got this from an example.
Logging out and back in is the only thing that fixes my screen.
