[SOLVED] SLiM not switching back to tty1

That's it.

When I do reboot or halt command in the login screen of SLiM, it switches to tty1 and print a message and immediately after it switches back and stays in tty7 showing the cursor blinking.

At any time, I can manually switch to tty1 where the shutdown output is been displayed.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Alexander.

What message is being printed in tty1?

Something like this:

Switching to RUNLEVEL 6.
Sending processes started by ... the TERM signal.

Re: [SOLVED] SLiM not switching back to tty1

When it jumps back to tty7, does it eventually shut down?  Or, does it cancel the shutdown?

Then it is shutting down correctly.  It is simply showing the messages from tty1, which is normal as far as I can see.

sorry. I thought you meant it was shutting down, rather than it wasn't shutting down at all.

It is, it is shutting down. Nevermind, i think i'm going to get rid of SLiM or yo re-install it.
Thanks, I'll put this as solved.
