Notebook software for Linux

Hi, before I switched to using Linux I used Microsoft OneNote to organise my stuff from lectures and projects. I had a Google for other alternatives but didn't find anything that wasn't commercial. So I thought I'd ask if anyone else knows of any free/open source programs similar to OneNote I could use?

Cheers.

Re: Notebook software for Linux

I have no idea what OneNote does and I don't know what these alternatives are like.

Re: Notebook software for Linux

I previously used basket when kde3 was around.  It was pretty good, as I recall.  I don't use anything now for notes (except maybe LaTeX for math).

Re: Notebook software for Linux

I still use basket on kde4 no probs - beautiful. But what are you using, gtk, qt or neither? Dependencies and stuff are a big consideration for some, others go more for functionality...

Re: Notebook software for Linux

from the linuxalt page linked above, i found QuickFox Notes which is a nice replacement for basket. basket 2.0 is still too beta for me, and 1.x seems buggy on kde 4.  I'm trying quickfox now and so far it seems pretty good.

I like cherrytree.

Re: Notebook software for Linux

Any interesting ones with support for syntax highlighting?
Going to http://tohtml.com/auto/ to format my coding notes before inserting them, is nice and all. But a totally offline solution would be great.

I probably made this post longer than it should only because I lack the time to make it shorter.
