easily customizable window decorator

As I understand it, emerald hasn't seen any love for a long time and I'm looking for a suitable replacement.  I'd like something easily customizable, like emerald is, with lots of options as I'm fairly ocd with this kind of thing.  I googled around a bit but couldn't find anything, so thanks for any help anyone can provide.

Re: easily customizable window decorator

I'm looking for just a window decorator, as I'm quite happy with compiz for window management.  As I understand, compiz and openbox fill essentially the same role.

It may be true that Emerald hasn't gotten the attention it once did, but it's not as if it's been abandoned wholescale. I've heard it argued that there isn't as much work being done it now because it's been all but perfected, and there are already plenty of attractive themes—enough that you'll never run out of new interesting choices—and of course, you can go ahead and make your own theme as well.

Re: easily customizable window decorator

I found Emerald to be highly customizeable, but I don't use most of its features.  AFAIK, it, compiz-decorator-gtk and compiz-decorator-kde(?) are the only options.  As it stands, I've got Emerald looking almost exactly like Openbox (almost there), so it's not that limited.

Unless I'm mistaken, you might be able to use the Pixmap engine to completely design your own decoration, within certain restrictions.
