Compiz Fusion JPEG/PNG problem

Under Image Loading

I can't seem to enable JPEG or PNG files.
I can go into the menu and select these features, but about half a second after that they toggle off.

Adding the options in gconf-editor yield the same results.

I can enable SVG and TEXT though.

Do you have libpng and libjpeg installed?

I uninstalled and removed all compiz packages, and did a reinstall.

They started to work shortly after that.
