With the new forums, the 'squares' to the left of each post are too big, they're not centered vertically and it makes the forums look a bit like a kids soft play area. I thought I would get over it but alas, a week or so later it still bugs me.
Am I being daft and petty, or does this grind anyone else?

Which browser do you use?

They're centered vertically with regards to the forum names, but not the descriptions.
They don't really bug me.

Midori - so webkit based. They're partially centered but slightly off, which makes it neither and therefore

It's funny ... I so that yesterday late in the day but today is "back to normal".
May be it was some sort of configuration glitch ?

I haven't noticed, so I suppose that means it doesn't bother me.

You can change it by altering the border-width:
.pun .icon { border-width: 8px; }
# edit ..and no, I have gotten used to them and find the size is just about right -- but that is probably my failing eyesight...
# edit 2: 6px returns them to the way they were in the previous release, if that's what you are after:
.pun .icon { border-width: 6px !important;
margin: 2px 0 0 2px !important; }

It's huge here too. DejaVu or Bitstream, yes? I haven't had time to figure it out, but I'm sure that some CSS magic can fix it.
I'm glad somebody else noticed and I wasn't being overly pedantic

I have reduced the size of these indicators. They are not correctly aligned anymore though. Please use the bug tracker next time and watch your language.

Watch what language? No posts have been edited in this thread and I don't see any bad language.

I think he's referring to the unecessary "look a bit like a kids soft play area." in the first post.

Sorry guys, I was just referring to how the squares reminded me of the big squishy foam things kids chuck about, a bit of humour with no alterior motive.
Point noted and appolgies accepted I hope, I was watching the ML as the upgrade was on going so I know a lot of time was taken to get the upgrade up and running.
EDIT: Looking good by the way, much more pleasing to the eye and they're also perfectly centered for me now...

I guess I should have been more verbose here. I wasn't offended in any way. This was more meant as a hint because not everybody would appreciate reports of that kind; especially with such titles.
