[solved] Installing pygame

Hi,

Im having a problem while installing pygame from the repositories.
It seems that sdl_ttf-2.0.9-2-i686.pkg.tar.gz cannot be found in several mirrors.

However, I downloaded the tar file and did ./configure and make, but
now I dont know where to put the directory to continue with the installation of
the pygame library.

Could someone help me with this?

http://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra … /download/
Here's a package, try it.

Edit: We use .xz compression now and the current version is sdl_ttf 2.0.10-1. How old is your mirrorlist and packagelist?

Re: [solved] Installing pygame

I did an update after you asked me about my mirrorlist.

But, now, the new mirrorlist has a $arch at the end. It is telling me that no Architecture is defined.
Need to google that.

No need to google, more like use 'locate' (on an updated db) to find all the pacsave and pacnew files that should be there.

Did your locale change or what? I wrote 'locate' not 'locale' - LOCATE.

You're welcome.

A couple of friendly reminders:
- keep your system updated
- you can grab a package by hand if the mirrors are acting up, no need to compile
- we have a list of good (up to date) mirrors https://www.archlinux.de/?page=MirrorStatus

Please mark the thread as solved.
