Has some of you fellow Arch users solved the mystery behind sorting not working as it should ?
What i mean is for example akregator when i want to sort feeds by date i can't it is stuck on "Title" and this also doesn't work.
Any of you know the fix for that??
The weird thing is that logging out doesn't always help...

I have the same problem with Akregator - sorting doesn't work!!!
Just decided to create thread and found that i'm not alone.
I use openbox + tint2 + some KDE apps (kmail, akregator, okular, konqueror)
In all kde apps sorting works fine except akregator.
packages installed from kdepim group:
# pacman -Qs kdepim
local/kdepim-akonadiconsole 4.4.0-2 (kde kdepim)
Akonadi Management and Debugging Console
local/kdepim-akregator 4.4.0-2 (kde kdepim)
A Feed Reader for KDE
local/kdepim-kjots 4.4.0-2 (kde kdepim)
Note Taker
local/kdepim-kmail 4.4.0-2 (kde kdepim)
Mail Client
local/kdepim-knode 4.4.0-2 (kde kdepim)
News Reader
local/kdepim-knotes 4.4.0-2 (kde kdepim)
Popup Notes
local/kdepim-kresources 4.4.0-2 (kde kdepim)
KDE PIM resources
local/kdepim-libkdepim 4.4.0-2
Library for KDE PIM
local/kdepim-runtime 4.4.0-1
KDE PIM Runtime Environment
local/kdepimlibs 4.4.0-1
KDE PIM Libraries
Is it fixable or bug?

Do you by any chance run 64 bit arch?
Offline

kernel26 2.6.32.8-1 (base)

Hm, I'm running 64-bit arch with vanilla kde and have no such problems. Have you tried reinstalling kdepim-akregator?

I found very intresting thing about our sorting problem
Two days ago I tried uninstall all kde apps+libs and install again, of course this did not help.
I have been thinking about problem and pressing left mouse button in Akregator under field "Date", and saw that in one moment sorting changes after very fast 3-8 left button clicks on sorting field. It works! But after very-very fast button clicks.
Strange!, I decided change mouse settings - decrease double click speed. After changes in setting my trick do not work.
I have A4Tech X-718F mouse and remember that some time ago after xorg update all A4Tech mouse users have problems with mouse in hal and new 'evdev' drivers, some threads -
[SOLVED]Weird mouse behaviour - solved, but partially - http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=84943
mouse pointer moving to left upper corner after upgrade - http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=83691
a4tech laser mouse not working - http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=75169
I tried Media-tech USB optical mouse MT1020 and it works like a charm + sorting on every click.
Now we know that problem is in mouse driver, but how to solve it? (yes, I know - change mouse but my X-718F have 600-2000dpi resolution, it light, good and very sensitive.
Does somebody know where mouse driver config located if we use "input hotplugging" and xf86-input-evdev driver?

I had the same problem. It was fixed by adding the next lines to xorg.conf:
Section "ServerFlags"
Option "AutoAddDevices" "false"
Option "AllowEmpthyInput" "false"
Option "DontZap" "false"
EndSection
But there is a note in ArchWiki:
http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xor … t-plugging.
And it says that "disabling hot-plugging is not recommended".
So, I'm looking forward the more smart solving of this problem.

I tried on x86 and x86_64 and didn´t had such a problem. Sorting works for me in every KDE application

I should say that I use A4Tech mouse. The problem is connected with many of those mouses as I see. And the OP has A4Tech mouse too.

Same problem here, and I use A4Tech mouse.
This issue is also described in the following thread:
http://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=87677
i guess this issue should be reported (if its not already) to xorg devs, as this is a bug in evdev drivers.

I've reopened an old bugreport on freedesktop bugtracker concerning this mouse+evdev - https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=24737. Thanks to Bartosz Brachaczek this issue now seems to be finally fixed with his new patch.
Here is evdev package for i686 with this patch applied:
