I was just running through setup, partitioning my hd in arch setup in one terminal, and using lvm in another terminal. I had forgotten to use lvm previously, so I flipped back to the arch setup terminal and chose "rollback". I was then kicked out of setup with this error message:
"ERROR: Unrecognised partition type raw for partition /dev/mapper/xxxxxxx-etc. This should never happen. please report this"
Do I really need to report this? If so, how? What information is useful to report?

I would say you should ignore that warning and proceed with another try.
