Compiz Standalone will not start with Intel HD Graphics [SOLVED]

Hey guys, maybe you can help me figure this out.  I cannot, for the life of me figure out how to get compiz standalone to start properly on my computer with Intel HD Graphics, which is part of the CPU (Core i5 M430).

When I try to start it, it outputs the following error and quits, which makes me somehow believe its an error with my touchpad, however I have no problems with it in PekWM:

Query no Synaptics: 6003C8
(--) AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint: no supported touchpad found
(EE) AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint Unable to query/initialize Synaptics hardware.
(EE) PreInit failed for input device "AlpsPS/2 ALPS GlidePoint"

Here's an lspci | grep VGA:

00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02)

Here's my /etc/X11/xorg.conf (default settings as generated by xorg -configure)

Here's my .xinitrc for when I try to launch compiz:

#!/bin/sh
#
# ~/.xinitrc
#
# Executed by startx (run your window manager from here)
exec /usr/local/bin/xinit-startup
exec ck-launch-session /usr/local/bin/compiz-standalone
# exec ck-launch-session pekwm
# exec xterm
export GTK2_RC_FILES="$HOME/.gtkrc-2.0"

Here's xinit-startup and compiz-standalone that are called above:

#!/bin/sh
aplay /home/kmason/.home/.sounds/logon.wav
mpd /home/kmason/.home/.mpd/config
#!/bin/sh
cd /home/kmason/.home
#
eval `dbus-launch --sh-syntax --exit-with-session`
#
/usr/bin/X :0.0 -br -audit 0 -nolisten tcp vt7 &
#
export DISPLAY=:0.0
#
sleep 1
#
compiz-manager decoration move resize > /tmp/compiz.log 2>&1 &
# add more apps here if necessary or start another panel, tray like pypanel, bmpanel, stalonetray

# Start syndaemon
syndaemon -t -i 2 &

# Set wallpaper
nitrogen --restore &

# Start screensaver daemon
gnome-screensaver &

# Launch tray
trayer --edge top --SetPartialStrut true &

# Start network applet

# Start volume control applet
volwheel &

# Start power manager
gnome-power-manager &

# Launch pager

# Launch urxvt daemon

# Launch clipboard manager

# Launch osmo

# Force openoffice.org to use GTK theme
# enable this if you install openoffice

If you can help, please do, as I'd really like to get this to work.

Re: Compiz Standalone will not start with Intel HD Graphics [SOLVED]

Nevermind, I got it working by taking out the "xinit-startup" script from the .xinitrc. big_smile
