[SOLVED] Tracking thread status

Warning: This is a basic question. I may seem silly for asking this. :-P

What is the best way to track the status of threads that I create? I see that you can "subscribe" to threads, but is there a page that lists all threads I have posted in, along with notifications for updates in those threads?

I was thinking something along of the "Track" system Drupal provides, but I can't find something like that anywhere...

Re: [SOLVED] Tracking thread status

Go to your profile and under 'user activity' click "show all posts".  I think that's what you're looking for.

Re: [SOLVED] Tracking thread status

There's a world of difference: you want to track the threads you create or the onces where you participated?
You can you go https://bbs.archlinux.org/index.php and at the very bottom you have some links, among them

    Show your subscribed topics
    Show your posts

Re: [SOLVED] Tracking thread status

I think you are looking for the "Show your subscribed topics" link at the bottom of the index page.

You will also be notified for updates in your email, assuming you check as often.

Re: [SOLVED] Tracking thread status

Thanks, splittercode and karol. Ideally, I would like to track both the threads that I createand the threads that I participate in, but even just a list of threads that I create would suffice.

I did see the "show all posts" link, but it seems that there are two problems with this: The page "expires" after a short time and it does not seem to indicate updates to threads (though I might be wrong about this).

Re: [SOLVED] Tracking thread status

On the Profile > Privacy page, I just found this option:
"Automatically subscribe to every topic you post in."

Does the "Show your subscribed topics" page expire like the "Show all posts" page does? How does this page indicate thread updates?

Thanks again, everyone.

EDIT: My misunderstanding.

The subscribed threads do not expire, but the blue square update indicators will disappear to notify you of updates. This why I would recommend to check the emails for updates too.

Re: [SOLVED] Tracking thread status

""Show your subscribed topics" does not "expire". The last column indicates the last post: Today 23:03:22 by splittercode.
There are RSS channels and you can subscribe by e-mail to be notified about the updates.

Re: [SOLVED] Tracking thread status

Ahh, thank you everyone. Again, I'm sorry this was such a basic question, but I'm not terribly familiar with FluxBB (though it is very nice). For anyone who comes across this later, here's what I did...

1. Navigate to Profile > Privacy. Check "Automatically subscribe to every topic you post in."
2. Near the bottom of the forum, hover your mouse over the text "Show your subscribed topics". Copy the link location. Do not click the link and then copy the URL in the address bar, as the link redirects you to a temporary page that will not update to show new posts that you make.
3. Thread updates are marked by a solid blue box to the left of the thread name.

Thanks again, everyone!

Re: [SOLVED] Tracking thread status

With regard to #2, I think you can refresh that page and than it will show the newly-subscribed topics too. That URL won't change, but the page will show different contents for different users.

Re: [SOLVED] Tracking thread status

Hm, refreshing the URL that show_subscriptions redirects you (which is in the form https:// bbs.archlinux.org/search.php?search_id=[number]) does not seem to show newly-subscribed topics.

This is sort of what I meant by "expiring", but I still may be wrong.

Maybe that's because there is some lag or you need to wait for someone to update the thread.

Re: [SOLVED] Tracking thread status

Could be. Anyway, at the very least the solution I describes does work, even if it is more than needs to be done.

I'm going to mark this thread as solved. Thanks again for the help, everyone. I really appreciate it as always.

Re: [SOLVED] Tracking thread status

Every time you click "Show your subscribed topics" you are taken to a page that is the result of a search query. Refreshing via the browser "refresh" function doesn't re-run the query (the id number stays the same), you have to click the link again.

Re: [SOLVED] Tracking thread status

Ah, ok. Thanks for clearing that up, karol.

So if you do want to bookmark a URL, it does look like you should bookmark the original URL (bbs.archlinux.org/search.php?action=show_subscriptions), not the one it redirects you to. The former will always redirect you to a fresh query, whereas the latter (as karol notes) will not.
