Hi,
Just updated to KDE 4.5 and ended up with having a couple of problems
1. KDE won't start on boot. The system does go into runlevel 5, X starts to load and it appears like it crashes right after the Nvidia logo
It starts just fine if I log in to console and run startx
2. Had no sound after the upgrade. For some reason the audio group had no usernames added to it after the upgrade. Already fixed that, but felt like sharing ![]()
The X error log does not report any errors when loading X on boot.
Also one other strange thing that I'm seeing after the upgrade:
[root@cinder ~]# pacman -Syu
:: Synchronizing package databases...
core is up to date
extra is up to date
community is up to date
kdemod-core is up to date
kdemod-extragear is up to date
:: Starting full system upgrade...
warning: soprano: local (2.4.64-1) is newer than extra (2.4.4-1)
resolving dependencies...
looking for inter-conflicts...
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: kdemod-kdelibs: requires attica>=0.1.4
Is this a messed up mirror or something messed up on my side ?
Thanks

kdemod repos (if you prefer to install from unsupported repos) should be put first in your pacman.conf

Hmm, thanks for that. Didn't know they should be first. Funny that it worked for 2 years with no problems
Will update once I find out why KDE won't start on boot

Seems this is a confirmed bug
