This isn't a very major problem, but it's kind of annoying when I use some applications, and it switches the cursor from the one I'm currently using (DMZ) to an ugly black one that is set as default. So how do I set the DMZ (or any other cursor for that matter) cursor to be the default?

What sort of applications are these (gtk, etc)? What is your DE/WM?

To my knowledge it only appears to happen when I'm using FrostWire or Last.fm.
And my DE is Gnome.

See http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/X11 … sor_Themes
Personally I use the system wide option :
I have a /usr/share/icons/default/index.theme file containing :
[icon theme]
Inherits=Oxygen_Blue
This take the inherited theme as default in place of the ugly black default theme.

Okay. I should know this, but how do I make a .theme file?

just create it with your editor of choice.
gnome-fix does the same, but it is a lot easier to just insert the two lines.
