Hello,
I'm in front of a small problem : compiz is very slow on mouse moves (menu refresh) and sometimes it laggs.
If anyone has the solution, let me know.
PS: excuse my language mistake

What graphics and drivers are you using?

Please elaborate. What DE are you using?(GNOME,KDE,XFCE,LXDE,compiz standalone) What video driver do you use? Post your xorg.conf.

Okay :
- graphic card : Nvidia Nvs 160
- driver : nvidia 256.44-1 (seems not to be great)
- xorg.conf : http://pastie.org/1097082
May I add that in Compiz Standalone it is more slower than in gnome ?

You're using the right driver. Try running nvidia-xconfig with the --composite flag.

Also try compiz-check.

This doesn't change anything ....
I'm really disappointed with that problem. I think there is something with the screen refresh, because sometimes I have to move the windows in order to see the changes.

hmm, play around with the compiz settings (use compiz config settings manager). Particularly look for "sync to vblank" option and the screen settings, such as the refresh rate of your monitor (probably 60hz). I can't say which settings will work for you, or if they will change anything at all, but it is a good place to start. Also search the web for other compiz users with similar graphics and see what settings they use.

Those options are in the General Options tab, by the way.

Thanks for your help but it doesn't seems to improve much.
I think nvidia should release very soon a new version of their 256 one, because it doesn't does the trick so far.
In fact to have a perfect result, I have to move the window berfore *_*
