Remove libelf and keep elfutils. That's what I did recently in an update as libelf appears not to be needed anymore.

It seems I did not remove libelf from the repos fast enough. Once that happens you will get the usual "replaces" question rather than a conflict one. It is fine to say yes to that question.

Ok thanks.

if i say ok, replace libelf with core/elfutils it says ok, but when is going to checking package integrity after my "y" for the installation it says:
"error:failed to commit tranaction (conflicting files)
kernel26: /lib/modules/2.6.34-ARCH/modules.devname exists in filesystem
kernel26: /lib/modules/2.6.34-ARCH/modules.softdep exists in filesystem".
i have also tried to remove libelf but it wants to remove gcc and the catalyst, and i'd asked in order to know if there is a better or more elegant solution.
thanks
religion is like a penis.
It's fine to have one.
It's fine to be proud of it.
But please don't whip it out in public and start waving it around and please don't try to shove it down my childrens' throats.

Your best bet would be to use:
pacman -Rd libefl && pacman -S elfutils

Not even related to libelf/elfutils. This is part of the 2.6.35 kernel which you're also upgrading in the same round. It's safe to override with -f.

I seem to be getting a lot of "exists in filesystem"-errors when running pacman -Syu lately. WHat causes this? Obviously, there are files in the filesystem there, I get that.
But this houldn't give me an error. Is it the packages that are not properly made?
