midori bookmark menu

i upgraded midori yesterday and it appears ive lost the bookmark menu from the top of the window. has anyone else lost this option since the upgrade too? maybe it's a configuration issue, but if it is i can't seem to find it. i know there's the bookmark option in the tools menu, but the drop-down menu for bookmarks was very handy and time-saving for me. i'd like to fix it

Re: midori bookmark menu

The bookmarks handling has changed (to sqlite presumably) and the bookmarks menu is now shown in the sidebar (F9).

Re: midori bookmark menu

ok thanks for the speedy reply. that is a bit of a bugger, the drop down scrolly bookmark menu was quite speedy. i'll have to look for a different browser methinks, i have quite a large amount of bookmarks and even though theyre organised into folders, when i scroll down through them with the arrow keys the sidebar window doesnt scroll down with them. and its also a hell of a lot of scrolling i need to do with the mouse each time i need to access some bookmarks.

Re: midori bookmark menu

You can now sort your bookmarks in a deeper hierarchical structure which should solve some of your issues. It is not without problems, however. I almost lost a folder in such a restructuring effort. Better keep a backup of your .config/midori/bookmarks.db file before attempting.

On the other hand I do always keep a few folders of the most often needed bookmarks in my bookmarks bar. That way I can access them with two or three simple clicks.
