Firefox Crashing(SOLVED)

Neither firefox nor mozilla will run any more.  Every time I run them I get the following error:

The program 'Gecko' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadValue (integer parameter out of range for operation)'.
  (Details: serial 2935 error_code 2 request_code 53 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

I don't know what broke Gecko exactly.  A search on this forum revealed that people got a similar message because of the flash plugin.  I don't have the flash plugin installed so thats not the issue.

I uninstalled and reinstalled firefox and that didn't help.  Any ideas?

Re: Firefox Crashing(SOLVED)

hmmm...well I booted to openbox and firefox ran fine.  Is this a conflict with fluxbox-devel?  I've been running it for two days with no problems.

Any way to debug this?

Run ldd on /opt/mozilla/lib/firefox-1.0.2/firefox-bin, others are just scripts

Re: Firefox Crashing(SOLVED)

hmmm, you may be right... it looks like it might be a fluxbox issue, and not firefox at all - check their IRC/bug tracker/whatever and see if there's any mention of something similar

Re: Firefox Crashing(SOLVED)

Wow how bizarre.  I changed the theme, restarted X and firefox worked fine.  So then I changed it back to the original theme and its working again.

I need a fluxbox exorcist...
