[SOLVED] Kde Sc 4.4.5 Issues

I did a fresh install of Arch Linux today. I installed minimal kde by doing the following:
# pacman -S kdebase-workspace kdebase-konsole
Obviously, I installed xorg before that.
After pacman finished with kde, I installed alsa, some kde software, and the nvidia drivers. To install the nvidia drivers I did:
# pacman -S nvidia nvidia-utilus
Nvidia-xconfig worked perfectly. I was able to reboot into the kde login screen. When I entered my username and password, a box with this error popped up:
Warning: Cannot open ConsoleKit session: Unable to open session : Failed to connect to socket /var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket: No such file or directory.

However, the kde splash screen ran and my desktop appeared. I witnessed another error when everything was set. PolicyKit1-KDE closed unexpectedly.

I tried a few things to solve the problem but I don't think I know enough about linux and kde to fix it on my own.

Try starting via 'startx' from the console.

Try to start dbus and hal before starting kde.

I noticed dbus and hal are not in my rc.conf. I have kdm in my rc.conf though.
Should I add dbus and hal?

yes, you should add at least hal. It checks for dbus and starts it if it is not already done.

I don't get the errors anymore now that I added hal. Thank you for all the help
