File type is alway "plain text file" using Gnome 2.30.2

Hi

Since a few days every file in gnome's nautilus 2.30.1 has the  file type "plain text document". It doesn't matter whether it is a mp3 or a pdf. Gnome takes it as a text document and tries to open it with gedit. I actually don't know were to look for fixing this behavior. Please give me a hint. I'm using Arch Linux 64 bit with the recent packages (pacman -Suy).

Got it!

I had to run the comand "update-mime-database /usr/share/mime" for refreshing the mime database. Found the solution in:

I still don't know why I ran into this situation but a least I'm back on the road, Thomas
