hotplug-ng

Whatever happened to this?  I remember a LKM post a long time ago where someone replaced the current hotplug bash scripts with some compiled binaries... is this still in the works?

Re: hotplug-ng

Indeed, it's quiet. That either means it died an unnoticed death or that someone is working hard on it in the background... Let's hope for the last.

Version 0.1 was released some months ago (http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/k … 001.tar.gz)
And the alias thing is passed on to hotplug now since kernel 2.6.11, so its unclear what's still missing.

Re: hotplug-ng

it was started by greg k-h, the guy that is in charge of the stabilizing kernel project and udev. He's probably pretty busy and is waiting for someone to take over it.  Just a guess though.
