I tried running gnome-settings-daemon and gnome-keyring-daemon but still doesn't work. I keep getting "Unable to mount 'VolumeName' / Authentication is required" when I click on any of my other SATA drives. Any tips from other Fluxbox users running Nautilus?
[SOLUTION] Add the entry "/usr/lib/polkit-gnome/polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1 &" to the ~/.fluxbox/startup file and you're good to go. Automounting works in Nautilus as well as pcmanfm.

Did you add yourself into the "storage" group?

Yes I am in the storage group. Nautilus runs fine when I use GNOME, but outside of GNOME it doesn't cooperate.

Ah, so it's another issue.
Sorry, I know nothing about fluxbox and automounting.

Are you using hal or udev? I had major problems in gnome while using udev rules. Using pcmanfm and Hal works great in openbox though.

I'm using HAL. I'll give pcmanfm a whirl. Thanks for the tip!

It seems that the requirement for this automounting business in Nautilus or pcmanfm is that I need to load /usr/lib/polkit-gnome/polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1, however it does not want to launch within the fluxbox environment. It outputs this error:
(polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1:4455): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: cannot register existing type `_PolkitError'
(polkit-gnome-authentication-agent-1:4455): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_once_init_leave: assertion `initialization_value != 0' failed

I thought hal started that service. Is it in your daemons array?
Try loading gnome-settings-daemon on startup too. I had some issues in openbox though when gnome-settings-daemon was running. Couldn't change gtk settings etc in lxappearance.

It works like a charm now... no need for gnome-settings-daemon. I just added it to ~/.fluxbox/startup and that was it.
