When I boot a fresh install of arch It hangs on loading udev events.
I have a Unibody mac book pro.
The strange thing is that Arch worked a few months ago when I installed it. I was doing some googling and couldnt find anything except people who downgraded their kernels and fixed it.
Any Ideas are appreciated.
Thanks

Why not downgrade your kernel, like you said?

I dont know how. Especially after a fresh net install. Instructions would be nice or a link to them. I am willing to reinstall again if there is an easier way.

look at this http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=31937

okay, that helps a little thanks. How would I go about doing this when I cant boot into my system? Do I boot from the arch cd and mount my installed partition? and then install yaourt? I have a feeling that might not work. I'll give it a shot now though.

You don't need yaourt, just makepkg. And you can just use pacman with -U switch to downgrade a package. You may want to look into chroot (wiki).
Is there anything in your log files?

where would the log files be located? and would I do pacman -U kernel26? I'm not sure what the name of the kernel package would be? And I'll look into chroot now. Thanks for all the help so far guys.

Are you sure that its really locked up? Does your screen go black? or does it just freeze the text on the screen when it says loading udev events?
Offline
it just freezes the text loading udev events. I let it sit there for hours.... and it stays the same.

Nevermind. I just got a non-netinstall and It worked fine. Thanks though.
