Hi,
I d like to know if it's possible to make the forum of archlinux.org compatible with tapatalk. Thanks in advance, just curious..

I'd say no.
- absolutely no reason for it
- risking the privacy of the forum
- closed-source program
- partially non-free program
- tracking

Those people should try a regular browser. There is no way we install a proprietary plugin in our forums (it wont support FluxBB anyway)

...consider that is impossible to install that plugin. kthxbai

so you consider XDA developer a social networking site (and also notable android-linux forums based that grants the use of tapatalk).. Anyway, thanks for the information; just because to use the browser it's more "not practical" than tapatalk (or whetever apps that simplify the view of a forum) bye and rethanks

You can also always consider seeing the forums outside a smartphone.
I know... crazy, ain't it?
I probably made this post longer than it should only because I lack the time to make it shorter.

chesterfork - there is a better way to approach this, one which will not result in such vehement responses. Note the following:
- tapatalk is closed source, so ask the developer to consider making it open source.
- if/when that happens, ask the fluxbb developer to consider including tapatalk support.
- if/when that happens, tapatalk support will become available here.
It would be in your interest to do some research before posting any future requests of this sort.
To some others in this thread - the guy asked "if it's possible" because he was "just curious". No need to jump all over him.

ok, thanks for the polite answear. I was just curious because i don't have my internet connection and so i'm not everytime on internet; also, i have a good data plan and when i'm not at home (it happens pretty lots of time) i want to read, especially this forum. So why be sarcastic?? I approach politely, as you noted, but you never know what kind of people you face....
To re-enter in the discussion, in your opinion, is something that could "halt" the forum and make some troubles (like gtklocker said) or is painless to enable the forum for tapatalk? (just not be very technical )
and YES, i'll do some research meanwhile...

UPDATE: i mailed the developers. They said that anyone can develop plugins using their API, so fluxBB should be compatible. Thanks

Closing this now, as you seem to have missed the point.
The main points again:
- tapatalk is a closed-source application, and is therefore not compatible with the principles and philosophy of Arch, or of most other distros either.
- for this reason, it is currently impossible to implement tapatalk on FluxBB forums such as this one.
- the tapatalk developers are correct - anyone can develop against their API, or at least, anyone who they decide to invite. However, it is highly unlikely that anyone involved in open-source projects wishes to do so.
