Enabling mouse for CLI-only

I have been trying my best to find information on this for a while, but my googling skills have completely failed me.  I thought it was possible to have mouse support from a CLI (no GUI, just CLI). Is this possible?  If so, what do I need to install / configure to get this running?

I'm running a base Arch install off of VMWare Server.  Depending on how well this works, I'm hoping to move away from my Windows 7 VM for all but MS-focused development work, and though I'm happy to get rid of the desktop environment, I'm not quite willing to give up my mouse, yet...

If any further information is needed, please let me know.  Thanks for your help

Yep, thanks for pointing me in the right direction.  Just in case anyone else fails to find it in the wiki (at least I'm hoping I'm not the only one?), here is the link:

Searching for 'gpm' in the wiki shows that page so I don't think it's hard to find.

Please remember to mark topic as [solved].
