I'm testing my laptop with powertop from intel. It shows many suggestions on how to save power. One of them is as follows:
Suggestion: Enable the CONFIG_PCIEASPM kernel configuration option.
PCI Link Powermanagement (ASPM) allows the hardware to go to low power mode
automatically when a PCI-E device is idle.
I haven't seen this before using intel's powertop, so I'm wondering if this as been enabled before or if powertop is not reporting correctly?
Edit: I just checked the config file in the kernel folder created by abs, it seems that this option is not enabled. Is there any reason for it not to be enabled?

it WILL make your kernel panic.
It is still labeled experimental in kernel config,

You can check the configuration like this:
[karol@black test]$ zgrep CONFIG_PCIEASPM /proc/config.gz
# CONFIG_PCIEASPM is not set
