Anything I type in GTK causes a segfault. So annoying!

It seems that any program that uses a GTK interface on my system crashes on the first key stroke. in any input field. It causes a "segfault". I can't figure out what the problem is. The desktop is useless so i have to use terminals F1 through F6 only.

The system was working perfectly fine for a while. Then, after messing around with installing GTK themes and engines, it seems to have messed up.

Is there any command to force all packages on my system to re-install? For example, a pacman -Syu command but install all packages even if they are up to date?

Just step back, remove the "GTK themes and engines" which may have caused your problem.  If they weren't installed using pacman, I can't see how pacman will be able to remove them.

1. Create backup.
2. Try out some settings.
3. If you messed up, restore from backup.

In your current situation you can always first remove some apps and than install them back but I wouldn't be surprised if that didn't help.

If you are having the problem after a reinstall surely it's not the same.  The OP got the problem after "messing around with installing GTK themes and engines" on a running system.

I think you'd be best off with a new thread including some details of your specific problem.
