Arch Linux, expanding memory usage

Since I first started using arch around two years ago, I have noticed that the amount of memory used has increased substantially. To begin with, it would use about 40 megs of memory after boot in X11, over time this has increased to over 300 megs at idile. All with the same WM and daemons running.

If this memory growth continues, Arch won't be a lightweight distro for much longer. My machine is already using over a gig of ram with just Firefox and a few CLI apps running.

Re: Arch Linux, expanding memory usage

I'm not seeing this behavior. When I boot into dwm I use 50 MB of RAM (out of 500).

Re: Arch Linux, expanding memory usage

Hessiess, after two years you should know that Arch is not responsible for your ram usage, you are.
