SD won't work

Hi guys,
When I insert SD card to my laptop it is not mounting. I've checked dmesg and got:

mmc0: error -110 whilst initialising SD card

. Tried the same card on Windows Vista machine, it mounts, but can't read any data. Anyone has any idea what to do?

If you are not concerned about (possible) existing data on it - you could always try a 'mkfs' (after checking with 'fdisk' that it has at least _one_ partition)
