Hi,
Just noticed this on LKML: http://lkml.org/lkml/2010/8/26/327
It's supposed to help with desktop interactivity under heavy load, I suppose. I'll try it when I get the time, I just thought I'd share it here!
(find the patches at patchwork.kernel.org , search for Mathieu Desnoyers)

As I clearly understand it is patset for CFS. Do you have any experience comparing to BFS?

+1 for BFS. Try it from this package if you wish: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=32877
CPU-optimized Linux-ck packages @ Repo-ck • AUR packages • Zsh and other configs

I'm already using the BFS CPU scheduler (-pf & -ck), I just wanted to shine some light on this.

just tried it earlier today... one patch did not apply properly. I tried to fix it manually and build failed... then I resumed my internet session
edit/ it does build if you apply the patches as they are. i'm using it right now. however, i'll test its super powers once the rebuild with debug_fs enabled is finished... errrf...

just FTR, I contacted Mathieu regarding the failing patch, in short, the patchset is based on his lttng tree, not the vanilla kernel.
