MSP430 Programming with spy-bi-wire - can it be done on linux?

I've been looking at the TI MSP430 microprocessors and I'm convinced that they are right up my alley.
However, the only holdup is that I'm not sure if I can take advantage of the spy-bi-wire interface natively in linux.

I'm currently looking at mspgcc but I can't find anything that definitively says "yes it works" or "no it does not work".
I saw the msp430-bsl bootstrap loader tool but I'm not sure if that's what I'm looking for.

So as a recap: I want to program msp430's using the spy-bi-wire interface. Is that possible under native linux and if so how?

I need to find a way out so everyone can find their way out.

Re: MSP430 Programming with spy-bi-wire - can it be done on linux?

I have a feeling you're in luck. I've been looking at msp430s as well but we're not the only ones. Some nice chap has been playing with them and Archlinux and posted his method here http://losinggeneration.homelinux.org/2 … -on-linux/
I'm not sure what development/debugging tools it supports but the ez430 emulator that comes with the Chronos watch seems to work.
Good luck

Do you ever get that "Oops" feeling?
