hello
sometimes when my computer resumes from suspend-to-ram it doesn't load the display and remains it black. most of the times the display is loaded normally but I want to avoid the times it isn't. this problem influences only the X server because when I press CTRL+ALT+F1 the command line works as usual.
I saw this problem on ThinkPad wiki: http://www.thinkwiki.org/wiki/Problem_w … ter_resume but I dont know how to solve it for my machine. (I use Arch with Gnome on Toshiba Satellite laptop)
so now I need to solve 2 problems: how to restore my current X session and how to prevent black screens next times I suspend.
thanks anyway,
ariel

Need more info.
What the exactly model of your machine?
What infrastructure do you use for suspend? kernel one, uswsusp, pm-utils, tuxonice?
Provide some logs of your faulty restore from suspend: pm-suspend.log for example and xorg log.
If you have this problem only with X probably its you videocard. What model do you have and what driver do you use?
