[solved]xmonad errors

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
in a xterm in x:

[root@myhost ~]# xmonad
/root/.xmonad/xmonad-x86_64-linux: executeFile: does not exist (No such file or directory)
X Error of failed request:  BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied)
Major opcode of failed request:  2 (X_ChangeWindowAttributes)
Serial number of failed request:  7
Current serial number in output stream:  8
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i tried both the xmonad from pacman repository, and from hackage (cabal).

What should i do? (install the xmonad-darcs version ?)

Re: [solved]xmonad errors

Why are you running as root?

Did you read http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Xmonad ?

Re: [solved]xmonad errors

Security is not just defending against malicious attacks, it's also defending against bugs, accidents, etc.

That said, give us the output of ls ~/.xmonad as well as the contents of your .xinitrc .

You may also want to try with /usr/share/xmonad-0.9.1/man/xmonad.hs and see what happens. Copy it to ~/.xmonad and run xmonad --recompile . Then restart xmonad.

Edit: Ok, he solved it, nvm. >_<
