acroread no longer works for me since (*I think*) I added the multilib repo and updated last week.

Fails with the following in terminal:

(acroread:5094): GdkPixbuf-WARNING **: Error loading XPM image loader: Image type 'xpm' is not supported

(acroread:5094): GdkPixbuf-WARNING **: Error loading XPM image loader: Image type 'xpm' is not supported

(acroread:5094): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_ref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

(acroread:5094): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_ref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

This is on my laptop & desktop x64 systems, using bin32-acroread from the AUR and I also tried the binary blob from adobe. Not sure I can blame the multilib repo (which is excellent otherwise, btw).

You probably need to install multilib/lib32-libxpm.

Re: multilib repository: Feedback & Notification Thread

I have updated bin32-acroread to use the new multilibs repository. The new version should fix the problems you are having.

Be sure to check the comments in AUR before installing it.

Re: multilib repository: Feedback & Notification Thread

It still doesn't work. Though its not a problem with your pkgbuild, but with one of the dependencies from [multilib].

/opt/acrobat/Reader/intellinux/bin/acroread: error while loading shared libraries: libxml2.so.2: wrong ELF class: ELFCLASS64

lib32-libxml is there and should be installed, maybe try to reinstall it.

Re: multilib repository: Feedback & Notification Thread

Reinstalling everything from [multilib] solve that problem. Arch64 rocks again, after a temporary glitch. smile

Re: multilib repository: Feedback & Notification Thread

One question about "lib32-sdl_mixer" and "lib32-sdl_net" and "lib32-esound" packages:
Are these moving to [multilib]? Are these needed at all?
I guess some 32bit games need them or am I wrong?

Yep, you're right. Many 32bit games need 32bit sdl libraries.

Re: multilib repository: Feedback & Notification Thread

Ever since switching to the lib32 on [multilib] dwarffortress (from AUR) has no longer been starting:

$ dwarffortress
Sound devices available:
ALSA Software
OSS Software
Picking ALSA Software. If your desired device was missing, make sure you have the appropriate 32-bit libraries installed. If you wanted a different device, configure ~/.openalrc appropriately.
Perfect OpenAL context attributes GET
Loading bindings from data/init/interface.txt
data/sound/song_title.ogg: 3532781 frames requested, 3532781 frames read. Corrupted file?
data/sound/song_title.ogg: Unexpected number of channels: 2097248
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::bad_alloc'
  what():  std::bad_alloc
Aborted

I seached for others who have the same problem and found this:

@cbpye:
That looks like a problem I ran into earlier where the sound thread was crashing the program. Did you compile the graphics library yourself?

I ran into a problem after compiling the graphics lib on my 64 bit system. Apparently the header file for the library (libsndfile?) used to open ogg files gives a different size structure if you compile it on a 32 bit machine than if you compile it with -m32 on a 64 bit machine. This causes the elements in the structure to be shifted by 32 bits, causing DF to think there are a lot of channels in the audio ("Unexpected number of channels: 2097248") instead of a lot of frames or whatever, and eventually causes a segfault. I "fixed" this on my copy by changing the header file for that sound library so that the element in the structure causing the problem would be the same size (uint64_t?). I'm not at that PC at the moment, so I may not have everything exactly right.

Am I correct in assuming that the current lib32-libsnd on multilib may be affected by this same problem?

Edit: I filed a bug report: http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/20766
