[SOLVED] Weird question: pacman -Syu nothing to do for quite a while

Hi,

Perhaps this an odd question but I feel like for the past 2-3 weeks on two different computers "pacman -Syu" returns "x up to date" for all repos and "nothing to do" as the result. Could nothing really be upgradeable for this long? Can anyone else confirm this or has something gotten goofed? Is there a way to check actual versions with what I have to make sure things really are working properly? Even if nothing was upgradeable I can't remember the last time I saw core, extra, or community actually download without doing "pacman -Syyu". They alway say up to date and I'm thinking this just can't be correct...

What might help for me to post? I haven't changed anything in pacman.conf or pacman.d/mirrorlist...

Thanks,
John

Your mirrors (see /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist) are probably out of date.

See http://www.archlinux.org/mirrorlist/
There is also a link somewhere to all mirrors that shows which are out of date, but I keep losing that. A search of the wiki should find it.

I use the reflector app from xyne to generate a new mirrorlist every now and then, which is another way to go.

@skanky: perfect. Mirrorlist was it.

@jasonwryan: "please search" works if you know what you're looking for. I never would have suspected that ibiblio wasn't even a mirror anymore and that this was my problem. Sure, it makes complete sense now... but as someone new to Arch... not before seeing the solution! I support your encouragement and think it saves forum members a lot of time but don't know much else I could have done.

Thanks again -- I'm now downloading the massive upgrade I had secretly waiting for me!

That's the link I keep losing. Bookmarking now... wink

@jwhendy can you change the subject to include the word [SOLVED], please? smile
