Hi all,
I recently got a new laptop. This laptop has a strange keyboard, with the windows key in the top right. Because of this, I remapped the Mod4 function to Alt_L and the Mod1 function to Super_L and Alt_R using xmodmap.
Now, all these keys work fine in things like Gimp, Firefox, and XChat, but enter a terminal application like irssi, and it won't detect when I hold down my Super_L key to switch windows, it'll just output whatever window number I hit. It's not just a urxvt issue, it does the same in xterm.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT: Well, I found I can use Ctrl+N and Ctrl+P to move around, so it's pretty much a fix.

Run cat in a terminal, press the button combination you use and see what result it gives. E.g. Control+A will show up like this:
$ cat
^A
Compare that to what you should be getting, I assume something goes wrong there.

Strange, when I do that and hit my alt keys and super_l key, it doesn't output anything, yet it detects it in xev.

Try pressing Alt and a letter
~ $ cat
^[a
Pressing the super key doesn't show anything for me either though.
