Policykit-1-kde crashing, sound device missing, wlan not working

all of a sudden, I have all these problems with arch linux.
my wireless adapter does not connect to my network like it normally would on startup (the wlan switch tells me it is enabled, but the switch is broken anyway so I couldn't turn it on anyway), Arch tells me that my sound device is missing (which it is not, and sound still works), the computer will not lock when I close it or press the lock button, and I get an error message about Policykit-1 -KDE crashing (when I restart it, it crashes again, and there is not enough information to send a report).
Also, my battery is not detected.

here is a snapshot:

The last thing I installed before this started happening was ntpd and openntpd. My computer is a laptop, an HP Mini 110-1118CA.
