I was just trying to install Arch for my first time and on the step after the hard drive formatting there was some error with pacman and I couldn't select files or something. Is that an issue with my CD? Should I burn a new one? I can't really do a tell-it-as-it-happens deal because I've got but one computer and am stuck using a #! live CD until I find out what went wrong and how to make it not happen.
Downloaded Arch 2010-05 i686 NetInstall btw if that helps any.

You need to tell pacman where are the packages, with netinstall that would be network - some mirror that hosts the packages.
Next time try to get the exact error message and post it here.

Do what? Select packages? That's the next step after partitioning IIRC. You pick it from the menu.

Knowing what the error was would help me help you.

I saw a tutorial and I think I might know what the issue is. On the Select Source thing when I said to do a Net install I didn't get a list of sources to install from, it just sent me back to the front menu where it's like "Select Source" "Set Clock" et cetera. IS there something else I'm supposed to press b/c after I select NET all that's there is an "Okay" button.

You need to to set up network. Without a working network connection there's not much you can do with a netinstall.

I think I got everything figured out, thanks!
