I have a Toshiba laptop, I know bad choice. It is an L505 and it has a problem with ACPI and booting. The only way to boot is with acpi=off on the grub line. The second problem is that I cannot get the Integrated Intel Graphics processor to run with the Intel driver with the acpi=off. So I have now two strikes against me. Unfortunately I can get Ubuntu to install and use it if necessary but I don't want to use Ubuntu and I cannot figure out what it is doing differently to get a good install with the Intel driver. So please help before I just strike out.

I just installed Arch on my Toshiba Satellite T235D-S1345. I was also unable to boot without acpi=off
How do you know that the acpi=off option is affecting the Intel video driver if you haven't been able to boot up without it?
