Arch sound problem on hp dv7 1299

Hi!

Yesterday I've istalled arch linux on my hp laptop. Earlier I've used debian. I copied my sound configs from debian to /etc/modprobe.d/sound.conf but they didn't work. I have also used alsaconf..

configs:

alias snd-card-0 snd-hda-intel
alias sound-slot-0 snd-hda-intel
options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=1 model=hp-m4 OR hp-dv5

I have already tried different sound.conf configurations but they didn't work. Any suggestions?

Thanks for help

Re: Arch sound problem on hp dv7 1299

I also had similar problems in the beginning. What you need to run is 'alsaconf' as root when the sound is not there and then readjust the volume in 'alsamixer' as user. When the later part is done, it seems like there is no sound in my own experience.

And sound frequently disappears from my laptop (hp zv6000) without any reason. I rerun 'alsaconf' and 'alsamixer' to get it back. Maybe this helps!
