[SOLVED] Fatal Error Loading Module eeepc_laptop

I just installed the acpi-eeepc-generic package from AUR and when I boot I receive the following error during "Loading Modules":

FATAL: Error inserting eeepc_laptop (/lib/modules/2.6.35-ARCH/kernel/drivers/platform/x86/eeepc-laptop.ko): No such device

The file is located in the correct directory.

Help appreciated.

P.S. I've been unable to locate this message in any of my log files either. I ended up shooting video of the boot sequence to capture the proper wording.

Re: [SOLVED] Fatal Error Loading Module eeepc_laptop

Does it mean you can't boot?
Did you just install the package or did you also do some kernel work?

Re: [SOLVED] Fatal Error Loading Module eeepc_laptop

I can boot, this module just won't load. No kernel work done.
Does this need to be posted elsewhere?

There's http://github.com/nbigaouette/acpi-eeepc-generic/issues but let's try to tackle it here first.

Have you tried loading it by hand 'modprobe <module_name>''?

Try adding acpi_osi=Linux to your kernel /vmlinuz26 foobar line in /boot/grub/menu.lst

This is a bug introduced with 2.6.34 I believe.

wdit: Wrong, it was 2.6.32:

@ karol modprobe eeepc_laptop gave the same error message..  Thanks for that link.

@Cdh That seems to have fixed it. Thanks. I now remember reading something about that, but I went to dinner with the family right after I installed this. I must have forgot that part.
