Anyone recommend a PCI USB Adapter?

Does anyone have a PCI USB Card that is working well on x86_64? Can you post the brand and/or model?

I'm having issues with my built-in USB ports and I'm going to try a PCI USB Adapter.
I'd hate to randomly get the one brand that works horribly with *nix.

This one is "Mac" ready which leads me to believe it'll work fine, but I've heard bad things about VIA chipsets.

Thanks.

Usually, you don't (or at least I don't) need to worry about PCI device chipset problems. I have never had an instance where a PCI device didn't work when I just plugged it in (besides video and wireless cards of course).  I'd say go for the "Mac" ready one. wink

If you can order from Newegg, then consider this card with a NEC chipset:
