I have updated the package to use the new multilibs.
However, you must do the following to get it to work properly:
1) Remove old bin32-acroread
2) Remove lib32-libstdc++5-3.3.6-3. It is not needed anymore.
3) Make absolutely sure you have updated to the new multilibs. This package WILL NOT WORK with the old format. When you update to the new multilibs it should pull in a bunch of new packages. If it doesn't something is wrong.
4) Install new bin32-acroread.
5) Rerun nspluginwrapper so the browser plugin will work.
I hope I have all of the dependencies right. I have successfully installed it on 2 computers without any problems.
Due to the new lib32 files it is not necessary to patch the acroread script to find the libraries anymore.
It would be helpful if a few others could try the new package build to see I haven't missed anything.
If you have problems let me know.

I did that and still received errors. For whatever reason, deleting ~/.adobe fixed it.
It seems to have less tolerance for certain GTK themes now; ones that it took no issue with before, it now does so with.

Could you post what kind of errors you are getting?
Will the program not run when this happens?
What themes is it happening with?
If I run it from the command line it complains about not finding qtcurve, but the program still runs.
The information would help me in trying to find out the problem is and possibly fix it.

I'm having some issues after upgrading to the new multilibs and reinstalling bin32-acroread. When I start acroread it produces the message "terminate called after throwing an instance of 'ASErrException'" then exits. Removing the ~/.adobe directory doesn't help. Any suggestions?

Did you remove the old bin32-acroread before trying to install the new one?
I did a google search of the error. Unfortunately, the error doesn't give any indication as to what or where the problem is.
What you might try is to remove bin32-acoread and check and make sure no traces of it remain and then reinstall.
