Hi,
I want to change my display mode to portrait mode. The display orientation I need is got when I run the command
xrandr -o right
I want this to be my default display. What settings do I need to change.

Add it to .xinitrc?

By adding that command to your .xinitrc or similar it will only be run after your user logs in, therefore your login screen (if you use one) will still be at the default rotation. To set it on X startup you need to set that option in your xorg.conf, look for the option "Rotate" in man xorg.conf for more info.
