I've just installed evince (PDF viewer) and texworks (tex typesetting editor) and they are both working fine, only they are missing from the Application menu in GNOME. I would like to access both from this menu without executing them from terminal everytime. I tried google it, but can't find any solutions to it. (Or possibly, I don't seem to understand them )
Any tips?

Do you have FAM or Gamin installed?

I have FAM installed.

You should replace FAM with Gamin and see if that resolves the issue.

I replaced FAM with Gamin and rebooted, but they are still missing from the menu.

If you've replaced it you might make sure 'fam' is out of your DAEMONS in /etc/rc.conf and reboot. If that doesn't work then try reinstalling the applications in question. Let me know if either of those don't work.

It's nothing to do with fam or gamin. It's just hidden. Right click, Edit Menus, Graphics and select Document Viewer.

I edited the /etc/rc.conf before I rebooted and reinstalled evince. I did not manage to reinstall texworks (I installed from the AUR with makepkg), but evince was still missing as well. The programs are installed as followed I believe:
$ whereis texworks evince
texworks: /usr/bin/texworks
evince: /usr/bin/evince /usr/lib/evince /usr/include/evince /usr/share/evince /usr/share/man/man1/evince.1.gz

I doesn't show up in the Edit Menus either..

What was listed after you selected Graphics?

DEFAULT gnome developers have configured evince to not be showed in menu.
it has in /usr/share/applications/evince.desktop :
NoDisplay=true
Give what you have. To someone, it may be better than you dare to think.

Ah that would make sense. It's been a while since I used Gnome.

I edited the line to
NoDisplay=false
in the file /usr/share/applications/evince.desktop, and Graphics -> Document Viewer magically appeared. Thanks!
The only thing that remain gone from the menu is Texworks.
