No more /dev/video0

Hi,
I have a laptop with a webcam, but I have no /dev/video0 and of course the webcam doesn't work (I'm using udev).
I know that a few months ago my webcam was working and there was a /dev/video0. Unfortunately I don't know exactly when this happened because I don't use my webcam very often, so I can't say which update broke it.

Do you know what I can do to make it work again?

Sorry for not giving more details, but I really don't know what could be useful.
