2x460gtx on a pci-e1.0 x4 bus

Hi all,

I'm considering a new card or two since multihead support is slowly but surely coming to nvidia.  Anyway my question is this: would a two 460gtx's be throttled by bus limitations if running on a pci-e 1.0 bus, halved from 8x to 4x (because there are two cards)?

For the answer, buy a cheaper card, yes, but I already have those and I'm looking forward to running S-3D at some point, drivers permitting.

PCI-e has a max of 16x actually, and yes, of course putting a card in a 4x slot will severely slow it down. And if you use two cards, since they need to be synchronized, they will *both* run at 4x. If your motherboard doesn't have enough lanes for two 16x slots, forget dual cards. Multiple displays is one area where I'd actually recommend an ATI card, because of Eyefinity.
